New York Fashion Week - Wrap Up

Fashion model and the New York correspondent for F.B.I.

I am thrilled to share with you the tends from NYFW Fall/Winter 2012. I walked in several shows, attended many shows and went to tons of parties. I'm exhausted, LOL!!! I love fashion week and so does the City of New York.

There are over 200 shows during fashion week around the city. 100,000 people attend these shows. The city takes in nearly $1 billion annually from twice yearly shows.

HIGHLIGHTS from the shows that created the most BUZZ.

The theme all around was LADYLIKE & PURE GLAMOUR, filled with rich textures. It reminded me of old Hollywood. The designer on everyone's lips was JASON WU. He was the bell of the ball.

JASON WU
The first Lady loves him and so do we. He put on such a dramatic show going back to basics. He revisited his roots with a Chinese dynasty theme. His clothes were simply GORGEOUS!!! They were rich, structured with a military flair. He recently designed a line for Target which sold out in seconds. If you want a piece of Jason Wu, check out Ebay.

VICTORIA BECKHAM
She previewed her collection to a pack house with her husband David Beckham, editor in Chief of American Vogue Anna Wintour, and her long time business partner Simon Fuller, all looking on from the front row. Her collection was sporty, confident, structured and fitted. It had an edge to it with motorcycle boots and cool accessories. She used her signature black with pops of bold colors. The editors loved her!!! After rave reviews, she was crowned Queen of fashion week. GOAL!!!

THE ROW
The Olsen twins collection was impressive!!! The line was luxurious, using fur, alligator, leather details on sleek, timeless, workable pieces. It was minimal with muted colors which worked for this collection. They have a high fashion collection and a line for JcPenny's. They are quietly doing a lot of good work and making a big splash in the fashion world.

Mary Kate & Ashley

CHRISTIAN SIRIANO
We know him as the winner of Project Runway. His fierce collection was chic, wearable sheaths in black and cropped leather jackets worn over flowing cocktail dresses. His style is beautiful, romantic with a slight gothic feel to it. I'm sure, we'll see some of his dresses grace the Oscar red carpet. Many stars came out to support his show. He has a huge following like a rock star.

DIANE VON FURSTENBERG
What an American classic, president of the Council of Fashion Designers of America. So naturally, her front row is a who's who of the fashion and media worlds, from husband Barry Diller to Anderson Cooper, Barbara Walters, Diane Sawyer, Oscar de la Renta, Solange Knowles, Molly Sims, Rachel Zoe and on and on. She had bold, timeless pieces that could transition from day to night. I especially loved her wrap like jump suits. Her collections are always refreshing, classic with vibrant color. They make me smile :)

OSCAR DE LA RENTA
He used unique hues of pink, gray, blues and blacks. His gowns were elegant and ruled the runway. Many thought his gowns would inspire the Oscar red carpet. What an dreamy style he has, what a collection. His designs leave you breathless, wanting more!!!
